I think there is no greatest love or noblest love or even unconditional love. You love uncontrollably, selfishly because you want the same treatment back, do you not? Yes you can keep giving and giving and not expect anything in return but you'd still gladly accept it if it were to be yes?

人不为己天株地灭 I think bbjx has quite adequately presented this idea.

Also the separating lines between the different types of love are almost always blurred, but no matter, I think. We have a specific kind of love for each person in our lives that cannot be measured or compared accurately to another. Every situation evokes different feelings in everyone, even the parties involved. So it's pretty difficult to measure one's affections by another. You can both be happy at the same time together but there are a million shades of happy; perhaps they are not the same. Same goes for love. It may be mutual and born of the same intentions but unlikely due to the same reasons. More of what the person means to you? That's why love, for me, is unlimited. Don't stop giving!!!

Oh just to add, love is for everyone but selflessness, at the very best, can only be for one. You'll have to be selfish to everyone else, one way or another...

I think the most important thing is to be able to 拿得起放得下看的开

Oh one last thing heh don't discredit someone for the bad things they did to you or the hurt they made you feel because I'm sure there're so many other good postive things they would've given you. Just take away the good stuff if the animosity causes some kind of break between yall~ there is good in everyone :>
